I took the second picture with the Canon EOS 6D a Full Frame sensor with a crop factor of 1.0 (no change from 35 mm). I had the 24-105 mm lens attached with zoomed in to 24 mm. Both cameras were set at 24 mm, but the crop factor on the Oly was a true 48mm focal length due to the crop factor.
4.). If you are going new, higher resolution, and full frame from older crop you may find your existing lenses actually need upgraded to give good shots on the new body. Higher resolution makes marginal lenses look bad. Also ff cameras frame differently (wider and shorter) so you may want new lenses to deal with that.
With the Sony E mount system you can use APS-C lenses on full frame bodies (they will crop) and full frame lenses on APS-C. Also on many Canon cameras, video is kneecapped. That means stuff like 1.5x and 2x crop for 4k videos. Recording time limits, worse profiles.
I own the Canon EOS 6D full frame camera. I would think that the crop sensor on the 7D mark II would be a biggest advantange especially for wildlife and birding. This extends your focal length by 1.6x. I have heard that if you use an 1.4x III extender that you can still autofocus with a Canon 100 – 400.
As a result of the magnesium body the K3 is a slightly heavier at 25.2 ounces when compared to the D7100’s 23.8 ounces. However, the Pentax K3 is overall slightly smaller at 5.17” x 3.94” x 3.05” when compared to the Nikon D7100, which is 5.3” x 4.2” x 3.0”. While the difference in size is not significant, it is noticeable
Canon EOS 6D, Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 @ f/11, 1/400th, ISO 200. The northerly view from Hidden Dunes in Death Valley National Park. 14mm of a full frame camera like the 6D makes for a very wide angle view which is great for large sweeping landscapes. Canon EOS 6D, Rokinon 24mm f/1.4 @ f/1.4, 45s, ISO 1600
Perhaps most important is that full-frame sensor. It opens up a wide variety of high-quality wide-angle lens options, from primes to zooms. Sure, there are plenty of low-cost, entry-level wide options available for crop-sensor cameras, but specialty lenses like Sigma's 14mm F1.8 and the like will really come alive when they can offer their intended field-of-view on the larger sensor.
